The West has always captured the American imagination. Years ago people went there with dreams of grandeur and hopes for a new beginning on stolen land. When I moved to Idaho in 2014 I began to explore my new surroundings. I found myself drawn to towns that the economy had forgotten years ago, and I met the people that lived there. These places have boarded up windows, derelict movie theaters and bars that open at 10:00am. By interacting with my subjects and paying attention to their stories, I explore the hopes and dreams of living in these bygone communities.
